What's better than an adult contemporary romance? An adult contemporary romance with witches, wolves, and everything supernatural!
What's a better combo than fairies and crime-fighting? When someone murders Gwen's first fairy godmother charge, her life takes a turn and she becomes a crime fighter. If the cops can't figure out who did it, she will. Little does she know that that first murder was only the beginning and she'd be hunting a serial killer years later.
This is a tough review to write. To say I loved Hester Fox's The Witch of Willow Hall and The Widow of Pale Harbor would be an understatement. They are gorgeous books. Hester Fox has put out two books since then and...I haven't loved either of them half as much. It feels like her writing has changed or something. I don't know. The first Tracey Garvis Graves book I read was The Girl He Used to Know and I LOOOVED it. So when I saw she had a new book coming out, I was ready to read it and cry my eyes out. While there were definitely tears, this book wasn't everything I expected. Let's talk Heard It in a Love Song?
Y'all know if I hear about a Jane Eyre retelling, I am going to read it and when I heard about Within These Wicked Walls by Lauren Blackwood, I was all in. Jane Eyre and magic and cleansing houses of spirits and demons?? Yes, please. Unfortunately, while there were parts that I loved, there were… Continue reading Within These Wicked Walls: Magic, Evil Spirits, and Love
I wasn't born in the 90s but that's when my early childhood was. I remember when Baby One More Time and NSYNC came out. I played Spice Girls with my friends in elementary school. I sung Destiny's Child with my friends in daycare. I'm a 90s kid lol.
